Nelson 60's style Renovation
Scope of Renovation:
It was great to get a call from Rosemary & Phillipe, who we had completed two jobs for previously, to do an initial inspection on a property they were considering buying and then renovating to take advantage of the spectacular views the property afforded.
We worked alongside Rosemary & Phillipe with the designer, to map out how we could turn the 1960”s single story 2 bedroom weatherboard home with a single garage to give them 3 bedrooms and a master ensuite plus a new double garage and enhanced living spaces. An added factor was a stipulation that the finished “weight” on the site was to be no more than before the renovation started. This entailed all demolition materials and excavated soils/solids being weighed and recorded, likewise for all materials bought onto site for the build, and the end result provided to the council as part of the code of compliance.
The final design incorporated a new upper level containing 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, an extension to the front of the house to create a new entranceway and a new standalone 2 car garage in keeping with the design of the house. The existing level of the property was gutted, new truss layouts installed to allow for raised ceilings, a new kitchen, a remodelled master bedroom with ensuite and an overall renovation completed to a very high standard of design and workmanship.
We then added new decking area’s and are delighted to see Rosemary and Phillipe getting so much pleasure out of their new home.
