One of the advantages of building tiny is that you can make use of the lay of the land, even using rocky outcrops such as the one pictured at left as part of the foundation for the building.

This is actually the woodshed for the island development you saw above, Project O in Finland.  
Here's another example of a tiny house fitting and blending in to its environment, except in this case the house itself is shaped around the surrounding rocks which also form a natural barrier against the  wind. And it can get pretty windy along this stretch of exposed Norwegian coast!
