Showers and showerheads

Shower design

New shower design has transformed bathrooms more than any other element. From cubicle showers through to frameless glass showers and completely open showers, there is a design and size to fit any bathroom/ensuite and many visually stunning designs give today’s bathroom the WOW factor.

Showers offer an enormous range of luxurious options

Square shower designs located in a corner and with a glass panel and glass door can open up a bathroom corner and give the feeling of space. Equally, showers can be made to suit any building shape or size with the advent of custom made shower trays and frameless glass panels made to order. Inline showers can span the width of a narrow galley type bathroom/ensuite, again highlighting the flexibility of custom made trays. And when it comes to shower entries there are sliding door, hinged door and no door options, both simplifying the cleaning task and again opening up the room. Showers are the biggest cause of leaks in bathrooms so whatever your design choice using fit for purpose products installed by experienced tradespeople is critical.

Walk in showers offer uninhibited entry and can have either vinyl or tiled floors with several waterproof wall options, such as tiles and specialist wall panels. Note that tiled showers require a waterproofing sub-trade and are subject to a building consent.

And of course let’s not forget the shower over bath option, clearly space availability will be a big driver here however today's product range enables us to make showers of different sizes and shapes to fit in quite small rooms. The other driver here is mobility – are we getting to a point where climbing in and out of a bath to have a shower is getting beyond us. Wet areas and additional bathroom design elements should be considered in these situations.
