Home Resonance Audit: Is Your Home Fueling or Draining You? | Pzazz Building
We spend over 90% of our lives indoors, and for most of us, the majority of that time is spent at home. But here is a question we rarely ask: Is your home working for you, or are you working for your home?

A well-designed home should be more than just shelter; it should be a "lifestyle enhancer." It should make your morning routine smoother, your evenings more relaxing, and your social life more vibrant. If you find yourself constantly frustrated by a lack of storage, a cramped kitchen, or a bathroom that feels like a relic of the 1970s, it’s time for an audit.
Use our
Pzazz Home Performance Scorecard below to see how your current space measures up.

The Grading System
Rate each area of your home on a scale and score points from 1 to 4:

- 1: The Friction Point (Frustrates Me). This space causes daily stress. It’s cluttered, outdated, or poorly laid out. You avoid spending time here.
- 2: The Functional Minimum (Tolerable). It works, but only just. It lacks soul, style, or the specific features you actually need.
- 3: The Comfort Zone (Supports Me). It’s a good space. It looks decent and functions well, but it doesn’t necessarily "wow" you or improve your day.
- 4: The Sanctuary (Enhances My Life). You love being in this room. It’s beautiful, perfectly organised, and makes your daily habits feel effortless.
The Audit Criteria
1. The Culinary Hub (Kitchen)
- Think about: Flow between appliances, bench space for meal prep, and whether it’s a place people naturally gather.
- Score: [ ]
2. The Rest & Recharge Stations (Bedrooms)
- Think about: Storage (is your wardrobe bursting?), lighting, and whether the room feels like a peaceful retreat from the world.
- Score: [ ]
3. The Morning Launchpad (Bathrooms)
- Think about: Does the morning rush feel chaotic? Is there enough vanity space? Does the shower feel like a luxury or a chore?
- Score: [ ]
4. The Social Heart (Living & Dining)
- Think about: Is there enough "indoor-outdoor" flow for NZ summers? Can you host a dinner party without feeling cramped?
- Score: [ ]
5. The "In-Between" Spaces (Laundry, Entryway, Mudroom)
- Think about: This is the "NZ lifestyle" check. Is there a place for the boots, the coats, and the laundry that doesn’t involve tripping over them in the hallway?
- Score: [ ]
6. The Future-Proof Factor (Versatility)
- Think about: Do you have a dedicated home office or a space that can evolve as your family grows?
- Score: [ ]
Understanding Your Results
- 6–12 Points: Time for a Total Reset. Your home is currently a source of "micro-stress." You aren't just living in your home; you’re fighting it. A significant renovation could fundamentally change your quality of life.
- 13–18 Points: The "Almost There" Home. You have some great spaces, but a few "bottlenecks" are holding you back. Targeted renovations in your lowest-scoring rooms would make a world of difference.
- 19–24 Points: The Lifestyle Sanctuary. Your home is doing its job! You likely just need small cosmetic refreshes to keep it feeling modern and aligned with your tastes.
